(OTC Bulletin Board: ASXI) reports that today it held its previously scheduled 2000 Annual Meeting wherein its President Michael McGuire was reelected as a Class 1 Director to serve a three year term. In his address to shareholders Mr. McGuire recapped the Company's excellent and previously reported results for both the Fiscal Year ended March 31, 2000 and the First Quarter of the Current Fiscal Year ended June 30, 2000. In the recap Mr. McGuire strongly emphasized that results like the ones achieved by the Company over the past several years and most especially during the past five quarters are the result of the entire company staff, an organization that should provide a firm basis for continuing growth in the new century. Mr. McGuire went on to report that the 2 1/2 months thus far of the present Second Quarter show a strong, "double digit", continuation of the Company's previous upward trend both in sales and in confirmed order bookings, well exceeding in both categories the second quarter of the record breaking previous year. He further reported that in keeping with this growth the Company has recently expanded its sales force by adding three new employees (approximately a 15% expansion) and is presently in discussions for line expansions within the Company's traditional electronic component lines. Lastly, Mr. McGuire reported that the Company's new web site should be on line within the next few months. The new web site will represent a significant expansion from the present 'meet & greet' site to a site that will substantially assist sales efforts. This announcement contains forward-looking statements that involve risks and uncertainties, including those relating to the future business performance of Astrex. More information about some of the many potential factors which could affect the Company's business and financial results are included in the Company's Annual Report on Form 10-KSB for the year ended March 31, 2000, including (without limitation) under the captions "Description of Business", "Description of Property" and "Management's Discussion and Analysis or Plan of Operation," and the Company's Quarterly Report on Form 10-QSB for the quarter ended June 30, 2000, all of which are on file with the Securities and Exchange Commission (http://www.sec.gov).
