Good point about size of a network.

"How big is the network and how large might it become in the near future?

The problem is that we really don't know about potential size until we investigate issues such as the extent of clustering, the amount of long-range connectors between local clusters, the adoption threshold, the magnitude of separation between end users, etc., etc. Even once we have an idea about all that stuff, it's pretty tuff to quantify any of it. And if someone surprises me and successfully quantifies it, though size has a lot to do with strength and sustaining a competitive advantage, there are other issues such as the various revenue sources that also are part of the mix.

In short, I think you're absolutely right. Show me how to effectively deal with it. :)
