I remember you as one who was always shorting (if often painfully).

Rob - it's really come down to a matter of available time and my lack of willingness to try to play the market. My business has grown quite a bit this year, and I no longer have much time to watch the market - so my preferred approach is to buy a few solid stocks and hold them. The fact that I sold today is a deviation from the strategy that I've held for the past few months.

As for shorting - I was driven to short last year as I felt that the stocks I was shorting were way over-valued. It's odd in that many of them were - RHAT, QCOM, YHOO - but I covered all of them way too early. Shorting is too risky. And if I sense a downturn in the market, I would rather just not be in the market rather than trying to profit from such a downturn.

Thanks,
-Eric
