I agree, UMG may be a good alternative to those who may be unable to get into the IPO early enough to get the big initial runup. I saw that UMG recently announced it was transferring its DEX (Yellow Pages, etc.) business to US West Comm. Grp., slicing off a big chunk of debt in the process and tightening their focus on the HFC business. They've been running full-page and double full-page ads in the Boston Globe over the past week for the MediaOne rebranding/launch. I'm already into UMG but am keeping an eye on @home for obvious reasons.
