Why aren't we hearing more about this?

dailynews.yahoo.com

In recent weeks, many online media companies whose revenues depend heavily on advertising, such as Yahoo Inc. (NasdaqNM:YHOO - news) and advertising firm DoubleClick Inc. (NasdaqNM:DCLK - news), have come under pressure amid concerns about a near-term slowdown in dot-com advertising.

In fact, advertising spending on the Internet fell 7.6 percent in August from July, marking the first monthly decline this year, according to a report released Monday by AdZone Interactive.

I don't think it should come as a surprise to anyone, but this is what I've been saying since last October - not only is growth going to slow for the Nutz, we are likely to see a recession/depression for them thanks to the size of their mania and the carelessness with which money was thrown at the sector in 1999.

And Yayhoo *still* trades for 250 times earnings?
