Attributing the Reagan boom to some sort of "Keynesianism"

I thought Keynesianism was the use of fiscal (spending and taxing) policies to stimulate (or dampen) the economy. Sounds like exactly what happened to me. Although I personally think the budget deficits of the latter Reagan era and later were irresponsible, I think a good argument could be made this was just what was needed in the early 80's when the economy was in and pulling out of recession caused by Fed tightening to bring down inflation.
