Can you believe that in England, folks pay over four bucks a gallon for gasoline, and that 76% of that is for taxes!? There are now increasing protests over there and in Belgium and Germany (which had the nerve to increase it's gasoline tax for environmental initiatives right in the midst of the rapidly rising prices). I would say that if the average price here in the states stays above 2.00/2.25 for any length of time, then some Americans will probably also rise up and protest vigorously. In any case, it will be interesting to see just where most Americans "breaking point" is with the price of gasoline, gas and heating oil should they keep rising since they are such a passive lot these days.....
