Infinity: Regarding SYNM in GTL.. Big talkers, lots of marketing hype and little results to show.. real flashy for the oil biz. Whereas RTK mgmt is salt of the earth JC Penney suits work till they drop, very little pay for last 18 years in lieu of equity, can trust them to squeeze every last dime. The difference between them and RTK which are the only two pure domestic GTL plays is SYNM technology is based on cobalt catalyst which requires very pure feedstock, usually natural gas with no sulphur (currently natural gas is expensive). Also Exxon Mobil has a s**tpot full of cobalt patents that I would not want to risk p.o.ing. RTK uses iron catalyst and can take pure or very sour feedstock, giving them a wide range of feedstocks. Because of SYNM flashy ways they have been getting all the attention, while RTK continues to partner with Texaco, Jacobs Engineering, Forest Oil, FCEL and many others worldwide. The investment community has been loathe to come off their hip pocket up until recently because they want real juice to flow. Currently it's only in labs and very small scale plants not suited for commercial production. RTK's Sand Creek will be first by a couple of years. Exxon Mobil and the other majors will eventually commit huge capital once it's clear they will not get nationalized by the Whore Admin. But it will take 5 years to commercialize any large scale project. This sector probably won't sky until then. So I like my little RTK, under the radar, working away like Doozers, partnering with quality players and proving their technology.
