Everyone (the street and analysts) are going crazy....a leader losing market share etc...slower growth, poor management insight, and new product transition in my opinion are already factored into the price and then some!

Going forward LU will do what is necessary and @ 30x earnings is extremely cheap in such a hot market. Growth and expectations will improve 2001. So talk of 20's is ridiculous and usually such talk signals a bottom. Technical analysis like; since the price broke 40 it must go to 30 then 20 is absurd!

CIEN was an $18 stock not to long ago....Nortel same

The fact that LU is again being dragged down again is irrational from a clearly valuation standpoint and future growth expectations. LU has enough 3G products for 2001 and with a few management changes can maintain it's position in the industry and regain lost ground very quickly. A few steps like spinning off slower growth divisions along with the new CFO are positive steps that are not being rewarded yet by the street. LU is well positioned in the industry to make the necessary changes and acquisitions are always possible given strong leadership from management.

Anyone calling for the doom of Lucent based on price performance and negative short sighted street views will be proved wrong in time. No doubt, the upswing will be swift and LU will quickly become a darling again. When? As soon as the mourning ends and value investors take the reigns again.

JMO, don't throw stones.....JJ
