[ Shock ]

Srvhap, I don't know if people are in shock, or have their heads in the sand, or something else. I started reading this thread during the rumor of the big GTE contract to AMTX that was supposed to be announced a few weeks ago. To catch up on everything, I scanned the posts from the past year. A year ago, people's messages basically said "It's a great big xDSL pie, and if AMTX gets a slice of it we'll be rich". Since then, people have been losing on their investment. Instead of accepting that the market is right, everyone here argues that the market is wrong and has grossly undervalued AMTX. Now, slices of the pie are being served to AMTX's competitors, and the reaction is "See, we told you it was a big pie". Nobody sees it as bad news when potential AMTX customers choose a competitor. The the pie that remains is getting smaller. Further, the competition is clearly better at marketing and sealing partnerships. I recognize that I may be missing something big, and am open to having anyone explain it to me. However, I'm beginning to conclude that a core group of people have fallen in love with this stock. The reality of the business condition becomes irrelevant. I've seen the same phenomenon on many SI threads. It's interesting to see how people get into a stock on fundamentals or technicals, but then don't get out when the conditions change for the worse, because they've fallen in love with the stock.
