Dear Voltaire,

Hate to spoil a good lovefest with the markets and the houses, but why does this guy's writing make sense to me? Forget everything else -- just the fact that personal and corporate debt levels are at such extreme levels and continue to rise based SOLELY on the fact that everyone's "net worth" continues to climb SOLELY because of the stock market's rise -- does nothing in this picture bother you? Or do you only worry about the near future? Can't these debt levels ONLY result in tragedy at some point, and if so, why are we as a society so willing to compromise our children's future because of our own selfish greed? Greenspan's easy money policy is tied to Clinton's way of life, if you ask me. And this behavior will not go unpunished forever by the economic laws -- new economy or not. Just a thought. Eventually what goes around comes around. Seems I remember a place called Sodom?

I remain,

SOROS
