rdww,

How long has NRL held this project? Is this sand something totally new that only NRL knew about when they acquired it? I don't think so.

QIT is in the biz because they are profitable, have customers/contracts. They are also owned by RTZ. Lots of cash behind them.

The hard rock from the QIT mine has 90%+ ilmenite. The cutoff grade is 85% ilmenite. They are mining a mineral <g>. Blast, crush, load onto train, ship, process...

As for sands, NRL's sand does not contain 90% Ti minerals. What about separating all the other junk minerals like magnetite etc? Not as easy as you make it sound... And then you end up with the ilmenite, rutile etc and still have to get the Ti out. You only eliminate the blasting. What about the fact that the NRL deposit won't stay put? And how are they going to take the sands up? Dredging. Let's see what the environmental guys have to say about that.

NRL has good people. They are on the right track. Do they have enough money to make this work? Can they sell the product? Will they get the approvals to do this? Can it be done profitably? Time will tell. Reeves can not create a deposit- he can only work with what is there, and what that is has yet to be determined.

Bruce
