Nextel Communications Joins Forces With Network Commerce to Expand Wireless Commerce Services SEATTLE, Sep 12, 2000 (BUSINESS WIRE) --
Agreement Brings Extensive Array of Network Commerce Merchants and Technologies to Nextel Online Customers
Network Commerce Inc. (Nasdaq: NWKC chart, msgs), a leading provider of technology infrastructure, services and networks for businesses, merchants, Internet sites and wireless networks, today announced an agreement with Nextel Communications, Inc. (Nasdaq: NXTL chart, msgs).
Under the terms of the agreement, Nextel Online(SM) customers will be able to purchase and comparison shop among businesses and merchants on Network Commerce's e-commerce networks via their wireless phones.
Using a Nextel Internet-capable phone, on-the-go individuals will have the capability to search for products via category, keyword, top 10 items, UPC code or ISBN through Network Commerce's networks, including such sites as ShopNow.com and BottomDollar.com. The Nextel Online Wireless Internet Service for Business, launched in April 2000, recently added a variety of new content and commerce applications and search engines, providing Nextel customers with expanded information and services in categories such as finance, news, shopping and travel.
