Hi Bob, Merrill, along with CSFB and DB Alex Brown, did initiate coverage of MCDT. All three are underwriters for MCDT's offering, and all three rec'd overallotments. DB analyst Phil Rueppel and CSFB analyst Amit Chopra do follow the Storage Industry as one of their specialities. Steven Milunovich is Merrill's manager of Technology Research and somewhat of an "analyst-at-large" to fill research gaps and represent them and their clients at Wall Street Hoedowns. And make no mistake, the Forbes/Gilder Telecosm Conference is an Invitation-only Investor's Hoedown. Merrill Lynch's Technology Group entered into a "technology alliance" with George Gilder and Clayton Christensen (The Innovator's Dilemma). The relationship includes staging two joint conferences and a series of conference calls for the benefit of Merrill Lynch's clients. Whenever these two stage something for Wall Street, Mr. Milunovich is sure to be onstage somewhere. I'm not saying this is good or bad, it's what is. I echo J. Fieb's opinion that the "Storewidth" pep rally probably won't present much more to investors than the new cheers for this season. Regards, Douglas
