The news in Newfoundland today reports that Inco has acquired an additional 1000 claims around its Voisey's Bay property but in the same news report the minister for mines and energy has said that there has not been an offer by Inco to renew talks concerning the mines development. I can see Voisey's Bay adding to canadian production by 2010 but only if Inco shareholders/managment realize that the people of Newfoundland will never again allow its resources to be developed without the province receiving its fair share of the work and wealth generated by it. Newfoundlanders will never accept mining here and nickel smelting somewhere else. I just wish the premier had the "balls" to insist on a copper smelter in addition to the nickel smelter that is on the table.

It is great to see the exploration continuing but without serious discussions and investment by Inco the ore will remain in the ground for a long time.
