Because Foveon's technology is based on a CMOS process, it will eventually make its way into the mainstream. It's simply Moore's Law at work. Saying that Foveon is designed for studio use and therefore will never make it to the consumer is, in my opinion, like saying that Intel's Pentium 4 chip is only intended for servers and will never make it into consumer desktops.

I believe Foveon will eventually make it into the mainstream.
