Stretching For Energy
Email this tip to a friend - Browse the Archives

Did you know that doing a good stretch in the morning can
make you feel more energetic later in the day? Good
balance, which comes from proper stretching, can make you
feel more confident, less stressful, more energetic, and
happier. Try doing a good full-body stretch in the morning.
Wait until you are fully awake (so that you don't fall
right over), and concentrate on being aware of your entire
body. Wake up your toes by bending them back and forth,
then roll your feet at the ankles, then raise up on your
tiptoes with your arms straight up to stretch those leg
muscles, and so forth, until you have worked your way up
your body. (If you cannot go on tiptoe with good balance,
then hold on to a chairback or some other piece of
furniture.) If you repeat this process of doing a good
stretch before you go to bed, it can also help you sleep
better.
