Best Buy to Canada, analyst predicts
Digital product sales generate cash for expansion

Convinced that the Minneapolis-based electronic giant is headed north for a major expansion into Canada, Caruso raised his 12-month price target to $100, a striking 45 percent above Tuesday's closing price of $69.19.



Best Buy (BBY: news, msgs) officials were unavailable to confirm or deny Caruso's speculation.

Caruso [Merrill Lynch analyst] jacked up his share price prediction only hours after going out on a limb with an $85 price target and strongly urging investors to scoop up shares of Best Buy before the rest of the world caught on. His reasoning earlier: the growing demand for Best Buy's digital products, which hammered out double-digit gains in the second quarter and tons of cash.
