I am not sure, but I believe that up until now it is about nil. Brazil regulators had a rule that prohibits the use of competitive FWTs through the year 2002 in connection with their sale of licenses and operating properties in Brazil. An exception has grafted to that for rural areas where no service is now being provided. This exception is very recent so the mirror companies can only now move to deploy FWT's. Also, the authorities in Brazil have recently announced that the 1900 megahertz band will be reserved for a third generation and that the 1800 band will be used for willed projects. I believe the 1800 band is GSM. It looks like the government is finally letting WLL proceed in a big way. On another note for those that can download a pdf file, the link I posted a few posts back has a lot of interesting information on Brazil and Argentina for anyone interested in that telecommunications market. WLL is just a very small part of the report.
