WHERE is the hard evidence of fibre glut? There is absolutely no evidence of glut ..... on the contrary there is all kinds of evidence of NOT ENOUGH supply of fibre.

You just can't rewire & retrofit the world network of circuit-switched, copper network into a fibre-based optical network overnight. Anyone who thinks there is a glut just doesn't know what they are talking about.

The ONLY problem the Carriers are having right now is to try & figure out HOW TO MAKE money in the datacomm world. Once the bandwidth metering & QoS pricing becomes feasible technically, the Operators will do OK. Meanwhile, gotta build the network otherwise what are you gonna do with all those pricy licenses and current overhead infrastructure?

No investment = eventual obsolecense for the Carriers.
That's plain to see for anyone that's in the telecom/networking business.
