One of my primary concerns with IFN is that it is working with the airline industry which is less than innovative. I don't expect the airlines to be too cooperative with IFN or Connexion any time soon.

On a related note, I remember one recent 5+ hour transcontinental flight that I was on in which the airline made a conscious decision not to turn on the entertainment system in first class (i.e., the private movies, games, etc.). When I asked why wasn't the system on, I was told that, although the system worked perfectly, it isn't used for transcontinental flights. On the planes subsequent connection from SF to Hawaii, I was told the entertainment system would be turned on.

Not exactly aiming to please the customers. Now, imagine trying to convince these folks to install a high-speed internet system and then work out the details (revenue split, billing, etc.). I think it's going to be a bear.
