Newcoast management is giving consideration to a change of business for the
company. Newcoast has been in the business of mineral exploration consistently
for the past 30 years.
Several opportunities within the North American technology sector have been
presented to the company for review. Should a technology-related opportunity
meet value-added criteria, such acquisition by the company would likely be
facilitated through a change of business style of transaction. Completion of an
acquisition is not yet assured and will be entirely contingent upon successful due
diligence, negotiation of terms and the obtaining of regulatory and shareholder
approvals.
The company has also granted 786,000 stock options to existing directors,
officers and employees, subject to regulatory approval, exercisable at a price of
10 cents for a period of five years.
