I think it would be safe to assume that the graduation rate basically mirrors the freshman-entrance rate. In other words, if a freshman class is 52 percent female and 48 percent male, then that graduating class four years down the road would also likely be 52 percent female and 48 percent male. Back in the '60s, you could count on more female drop-outs than male drop-outs because of matrimony, but I doubt if that's the case anymore.

My son is a high school senior and recently brought home one of those thick books with info about all the colleges in the country. One thing that stood out as I leafed through the book is that at many of the large state universities, the enrollment is 52 percent female, sometimes higher.

So while males may be better educated than females among voters today, just the opposite may well be true just a few years down the road. Perhaps Neocon has some stats on what I have just discussed.

The times, they is a-changing.
