I thought he in effect said he could sell LPLA, just the insurance, "tomorrow" for $1 to $1.5 billion.
Also, that was an interesting comment about LPA's possibilities and what annual income of 20 bps on $80 million would be, and that was the deal they nearly had signed with a bank....right before the bank merged or was acquired.
As a whole, I thought the presentation was very good, and really highlighted how different this company is than other "incubators," and how the LDP businesses are complimentary.
Also, I felt the presentation, among other things, gave investors a feel for the depth of the company's connections and background in VC, and also an idea of the company's ability to maximize opportunities abroad. Nice comment that "people want us" as investors.....someone with a track record and that they know they can work with.
Overall, IMO, very good.
BTW, does anyone feel as if some recent comments made by the "press" conflict with views you're seeing from companies themselves and from some analysts. For example, Merrill came out with extremely bullish comments last week on passive component makers, stating in the report they had done various checks along the chain and that demand was not slowing, and was not expected to slow anytime soon. Some of these companies have their products on allocation, gross margins are expanding, huge backlogs, etc. Doesn't seem to jibe very well with most of what I'm hearing in the general "news" though. To be fair, I guess if there are "worries," "concerns," or "fears," then that's fairly stating what it is, whether such items are based on all available facts is I suppose a different matter altogether. Maybe this is just a feature of journalism.

Well, admittedly, I was first getting confused after reading somewhere that CSCO was having difficulty meeting demand, and that didn't sound to me like a general slowdown in their business was a problem.
