I can understand your position but believe that Pathmark is a stronger company than Grand Union. IMO, the danger in shorting is that Pathmark will be a terrific takeover candidate. Safeway is rumored to be interested. Of course, everything depends on what the market cap of the company is. At this point we don't know that. Good Luck, whatever you decide. Jim
