Welcome Mike - I have followed Barnes since the early 70's when I was working as a financial analyst (since retired). Recently Barnes' growth rate seems to have increased to around 20% or so for EPS, although the rate of growth of sales has trailed behind. I think that mgt. is making a concerted effort to increase the rate of sales, and I am looking for sales in F.Y. 1997 to approach $ 625 Million vs. $595 Mil. in 1996. It also appears that profit margins on sales are also increasing and EPS for1997 should approach $2.00 per share. I have been very surprised that Barnes hasn't been "discovered" by the street yet, although the price has risen steadily since last fall. The company is in the process of re-purchasing 1,500,000 shares of common stock, and as you noted the dividend has just been increased (4th increase in the last 11 quarters). A fair price for Barnes would be IMO $30-35 by the end of the year, and I currently own 1000 shares and am looking to buy more on market dips.

Thanks for your post, and I hope to hear any info you can provide.

Gary
