Permit me to be the first to post on your discussion thread.

A few points...

1.) Gun Control is being able to hit your target..

2). Restricting a citizen's right to protect themselves makes them even more dependent upon the government for personal security.

3.) Governmental security (police) can be used, abused, or withheld in a very arbitrary manner.

4.) More children kill themselves by playing with matches, lighters, (ie: playing with fire) than are killed by firearms.

5.) The NRA has an OUTSTANDING rifle education course called "Eddie Eagle" which teaches respect for handling firearms, and or notifying an adult when a child comes upon one.

6.) The government has no such similiar program and has no such vested interest in one.

7.) Adolf Hitler banned the personal ownership of weapons just after he became dictator. Banning personal ownership of weapons was a key factor is permitting him to consolidate his power unopposed.
