That is not from out of the blue. My position on moments of silence was that, absent coercion to pray or proselytizing, democracy rules, and the majority gets its way. You make something sinister or neurotic out of a straightforward position. To repeat, if there is no reasonable Constitutional issue involved, the will of the majority prevails. It is okay with me if the majority doesn't want moments of silence.....
