>>>This manipulation of the market by those that can is getting more and more blatant. You can watch the ticks during the day and see the mm's drop prices for less than a minute to pick up shares to cover their short positions. Not hard to see but hard to defend against. <<< Bill, your dead on! Having a plan is an absolute must. Regarding manipulation, these institutional traders have the power and the $$$$'s to flash fake bids on the bid/asks at their disposal to scare us traders out of our positions. The key is whether or not the stock is overbought or oversold. If your on the right side, they(mm) will make you feel as though your not. You must be strong and hold your ground when they pull these BS tactics. Buy when you think you should sell and vice versa. This post is regarding FCEL that I sold short @ 185 1/2, before these chumps ran it back up to 189, before it took a nose dive. Message 14369720
>>>Nothing good comes easy Mom used to say <<< You got that right. Think of it this way, we're all in boats like the Andrea Gail that will encounter inclement weather on a daily basis, before returning to the dock. If you catch enough fish without encountering bad weather, maybe you should call it a day. If your not catching much, but continue to see higher swells, maybe you should call it a day and not press the issue, before you really get caught up in a big one. Preserve the boat(capital) as much as you can so you can fish another day, when the fish are biting. Unfortunately, the seas aren't as calm as they used to be and the fish aren't as plentiful. Even though there are less boats afloat, it's still more difficult to catch fish these days, than in the last 10 years. That's where discipline and focus comes in.
We are all Captains of our own ships, and we must run a tight ship and remain calm during times of crisis. Captains always have their coordinates, and we must too. When leaving the dock, you should always expect, and plan for some type of storm, before you reach your destination. Once you encounter that storm, you must decide as a trader what your tolerance level is, and how much water/punishment your boat can handle, before changing course, or just plain jumping ship. Keep this in mind, if you continue to abandon ship, you will nevertheless be eaten by the sharks(mm's). Needless to say, you will no longer be afloat, and will have to look for work elsewhere.
As long as you stick to your plan, use discipline and don't fight the current(unless extreme cases), your ship will stay afloat. In addition, you will have learned where most of the fish are biting, and where most of the troubled spots are along the way. Therefore, when other yahoo's enter the sea with their new shiny boats, you will have a distinctive advantage over them, and needless to say, your Andrea Gail will catch more fish than they.
