Mr. Roger Boivin reports
Com Dev Wireless, one of two operating divisions of Com Dev International, has relocated its international headquarters to the Telecom Corridor, in the north Dallas suburb of Richardson, Tex. The new office is alongside many of Com Dev Wireless's major customers including such global wireless players as Nortel, Nokia, Alcatel, Siemens and SBC Communications. Com Dev Wireless designs and manufactures leading-edge wireless systems and subsystems for major global wireless, cellular telephone and PCS system vendors worldwide.
Com Dev Wireless's global presence has been growing steadily. It currently operates labs, manufacturing plants and offices in Canada, the United States, United Kingdom and China. The company sells to Nortel, Lucent, Nokia, Alcatel, Blue Ridge Communications, Telos Engineering, Siemens, Allied Signal, British Telecom, Huawei-Telecommunications and Zhong Xing Telecom; often as a preferred vendor.
"Com Dev Wireless is committed to being an integral part of the coming high-speed wireless revolution," said Roger Boivin, president of Com Dev Wireless. "We believe this commitment requires our team to be immediately accessible to executives at the industry's most prolific and successful companies. In relocating our international headquarters to the centre of the world famous Telecom Corridor, we have placed our key executives in our customers' backyard."
One of the innovations expected to be of interest to Com Dev Wireless's new neighbours is the company's new high-speed wireless Internet product. "Speed and mobility will be the keys to success in the wireless arena," added Mr. Boivin. "We're staking our claim in this new frontier with a wireless Internet product that few competitors will be able to match. Com Dev plans to introduce a complete end-to-end system delivering full wireless access to the Internet from anywhere in the continental U.S., with global domain to follow. And, this system can be deployed for a fraction of the cost of a traditional cellular network."
