*KIDE (fav's) news moving to NYSE ! 4Kids to switch to NYSE from Nasdaq next week

NEW YORK, Sept 14 (Reuters) - 4Kids Entertainment Inc. (NasdaqNM:KIDE - news), the company that licenses Pokemon products, said on Thursday it has been approved for listing and plans to start trading on the New York Stock Exchange next week.

The New York-based company expects to start trading on the NYSE on Sept 20 under the ticker symbol ``KDE'' (NYSE:KDE - news).

``4Kids' decision to end its long-term relationship with Nasdaq was not an easy one,'' Chairman and Chief Executive Officer Al Kahn said in a statement. ``However, we do believe this change to be in the best interest of our shareholders.''

``Our move to the New York Stock Exchange is primarily motivated by our desire to provide superior market quality for all investors and a short-sales rule that is more restrictive,'' Kahn said.

Shares of 4Kids were up 13/16 at $20-1/2 in Thursday morning trading on the Nasdaq, above a 52-week low of $15-3/8 but well off a 52-week high of $93-1/4
