Thanks, Duane, for your comments. I am not a dedicated student of the DSL subject area, although I have been following developments on occasion. Own some CMTO and follow TERN on the cable modem side. COMS makes cable modems, too, I think. Was it LU that bought Amati a few years back? EFNT and WSTL are the two I follow on the DSL side. There is also AWRE and some French company called Orckit (sp?). COVD and NPNT are service providers and they aren't doing so hot either. My guess is that this stuff will eventually take off, and they certainly are off their highs. Still, people seem to be somewhat content with their 56K modems (why I don't know, because I have cable modem and have had great success with it). The phone companies are notoriously slow, it seems. All this will change and I think this whole complex could be very good for the long term. There are a lot of players and it might be good to spread the money around. BWDIK
