JDN, > I certainly hope that you are correct, but lets face it this past 12 months or so has been one screwup after another at INTC. Any other company would have been REALLY hammered over all this.

We've been over this before, but, people who live in glass houses shouldn't throw stones. I'm talking about your SUNW and their attempt to cover up serious reliability problems, and, apparent inability to fix them for a year or so. And, Sun is years late with their Ultrasparc III servers. It hasn't mattered much, I know, wrt sales.

The main difference I see between Intel and Sun is that the analysts are laying off Sun, apparently, as long as they keep growing as they have been. Also, I don't think any of the analyst "specialists" "think" they can get away with being down and dirty with the Suns, EMCs, Ciscos, because they don't understand their products like they THINK they understand Intel's.

Back to Sun, how do you know there isn't a tip of the iceberg thing with the reliability problem that came out. It might well be that McNeally and lieutenants strongarm customers all the time, threatening to cut off delivery if they squeal.

No company is squeaky clean. Not Cisco, EMC, IBM, none of them. Intel has had more than their share of screwups lately, but they also get by far the most publicity.
