ECI Telecom and Dassault A.T. selected by France Telecom as sole supplier of pair gain systems

PETAH TIKVA, ISRAEL--(BUSINESS WIRE)--May 20, 1997--ECI Telecom Ltd. (NASDAQ/NM:SYMBOL - news) in cooperation with Dassault Automatismes & Telecommunications have been chosen by France Telecom as sole supplier of Access Network pair gain systems.

ECI Telecom estimates that the framework agreement, awarded for an initial period of three years, could reach US $28 million, and the company has already received US $5 million in orders from France Telecom as part of this contract. Under the terms of the agreement, ECI Telecom and Dassault A.T. will supply ECI Telecom's Access Network pair gain systems; PCM2 and PCM11, specially adapted to conform to France Telecom's network interfaces. The systems will be used to expand and renew France Telecom's existing telecommunications infrastructure, enabling rapid deployment of increasing numbers of subscribers.

ECI Telecom and Dassault A.T. are concurrently designing additional options to be integrated into the pair gain systems, such as line testing capabilities, which will be available in the near future to France Telecom.
