<Generation Y's influence is two-fold. With their babysitting income and access to their parents' pocketbooks, the youngsters represent a
considerable market -- by some estimates, they control the expenditure of more than $100 billion a year.>

Babysitting? Tell me about it. One job of my 16 yr. old daughter pays 10 bucks an hour! (As she cuts back, entering her junior year, this client is not one of them. :))

She's plugged in: cell phone-wise, laptop-wise, you name it. She has it all figured out - psat's, sat's, sat II's, what colleges look for, how to get the extra edge against competing applicants.... I just step back and watch in amazement.

If one is lucky enough to find parenting this easy, I can only hope it continues. Her environment is motivating her. Who needs parents?
