Very interesting, Trevor. And if we apply that to our current dilemma, buying extreme lows. . . once you move off the bottom and get a small amount of gains, your port can better withstand the wild volatility.

Its obvious, but true. . . when you buy AFTER a stock has moved off its bottom, you have a greater chance of losing your original capital. . .which often triggers your sell-off mechanism. . whether that be mechanical or mental. So value and beaten down issues are important to be bought when markets bottom out.

These sound like simple concepts, but add up enough of them, and they become the building blocks to a successful strategy.
