FWIW: Gilder wrote about being able to communicate anywhere in the world using either a notebook computer or cell phone. He then went on to talk about QCOM and how everyone was going to want a QCOM modem. At the time it did not make sense to me, until G*. The more I dig, the more I see G* as much of a QCOM baby as LOR. QCOM designed the technology and did the network administration planning that G* needs. HDR fits in to this scheme nicely, although nobody is touting it right now. IR has acknowleged, in a post to myself, support for all of QCOMs technology. To my way of thinking G* is a strategic asset for QCOM's future. Without G* being available, QCOM becomes just another cell phone company. Sure they will make money with or without G*, but the big score is through G*.

Best Regards
Bob
