OK - stupid question time :)

I'm just learning here and I noticed several of the biotech stocks I am watching had large gaps between bid and ask today... Is this normal and I just haven't noticed it before or does it mean something?

ARDM 14 1/2 - 17 3/4
SCIO 9 1/4 11 1/2
RZYM 30.62 - 49
