My take on IBM's strange launch is that it's a safe and stealth launch, because
(1) It's the FIRST TIME that IBM launches an AMD business SKU.
(2) Use overseas market to test water.
(3) Use overseas market to test platform stability.

If AMD's SKU is doing well in overseas, I expect IBM will quietly offer it in the US, even for the sake of economic scale and efficiency. The significant thing is the fact that IBM offers an AMD businness SKU now.
