James, I was a big fan of coverd call writing before
1998. During those time, the market is much less volatile,
and the stock does not go up 50 pts with no reason.

But since 1998 and 1999, I have gradually stayed away
from that strategy. The biggest problem I have with that
is it does not protect you if the stock makes either
a big up or down movement, and it ties up your capital.
Espeically during late 1998 early 1999, I "lost"
quite some profit because the stock went up crazy.

I am amazed by your ability to make money on
this strategy today because the stock has been
going up and down like crazy. SCMR, for example,
went from 200s to 60, coming back to 1670, and now
back to 110 again. I know you can do some
follow-up/down strategy to ajust your striking price
on those calls, but for me it's just too much
hassel to stay in the game.
