Again from the mod thread; what is going on? Isn't IBM the second OEM to restrict their sales of Athlons to outside the US? What is the problem?

The US is the home of the "Gorilla" and it's investors, and IBM probably just doesn't want to rock the boat. Each 1.1 GHz Athlon sold is a major embarrassment for Intel.

IBM may have it's reason for not wanting to embarrass Intel. What the reason is, I don't know. I was surprised that IBM went along with the charade of releasing systems based on non-existent 1+ GHz Piii chips.
