EBALANCE NAMES MARK A. JOHNSON TO BOARD OF DIRECTORS

Sep. 14, 2000 (Item Processing Report, Vol. 11, No. 18 via COMTEX) -- San Ramon,
Calif.-based eBalance Inc., a provider of online financial optimization products
and services, Sept. 11 named Mark A. Johnson to its board of directors. Johnson
is the former vice chairman of CheckFree Corp., a provider of Internet billing
and payment services. Johnson joined CheckFree in 1982 as Vice President of
Operations and during the past 17 years has held numerous posts within the
organization. He was responsible for the development and launch of CheckFree's
electronic bill payment and presentment businesses and the development of key
strategic alliances. He also served as president of the company's Corporate
Banking Division, and continues to serve as a member of CheckFree's board of
directors. Before joining CheckFree, Johnson worked for the Federal Reserve Bank
in Cleveland, and for Bank One Corp. He currently serves on the board of Clarus
Corp. [CLRS], a publicly-traded e-procurement provider, and several private
companies.
