Diamondhead. The company never denied the report, nor did CSCO. CSCO said something like "there is nothing to report at this time" and NTOP (who was very pissed this got out) said "A Net2Phone spokeswoman dismissed the report as a rumor, and said the stock was falling because neither Cisco nor Net2Phone would confirm the story."

I and most other veteran watchers interpreted this as NTOP striving to show CSCO they had not been the source of the leak and noted that neither company denied the report. (which meant it was true). Since then we've been waiting for the release.

Also, David Faber did NOT report this story as a rumor. He reported it as a fact and he always states clearly when something is unconfirmed and doesn't report stories he can't confirm. He even went further a week later and said on the air that "he didn't know why it wasn't announced yet. All he knew is there was a signed MOU in place between the companies".

Here is the url to his original story.

and here is a transcript.

Note, NTOP simply declined comment to Faber.
