Cutter. Foresail and staysail. This proved to be a big problem as a large genoa, in my case well over 1000 sq ft, is a bitch to bring down in trouble. I am only on this earth because God was looking over me in one unexpected storm when I had to haul that thing down. Waves troughs higher than the mast, underwater, it was bad. Yea, yea, why didn't I see it coming, I was sleeping and awoke into the full problem. My mate was scared shitless and was running with the wind.

In my life, it was second to having a volcano blow up beside me, but much more dangerous. Way down the list is when I was shot. Think carefully and keep sails smaller if you don't have the crew.
