DNA: If you would have taken time to read the entire Sun-Times story, you would have seen that the cops' fight ain't with Gore, but with Mayor Daley. This is an intra-city squabble. From what I read in the article, it appears that the officers' pension fight is just and I hope that they prevail. I have nothing but contempt for those who try to change pension rules in midstream.

It appears that the sergeants' and lieutenants' pension plan is not jointly administered if fat-cat Chicago politicians can change the plan willy-nilly. Where I work, I serve on the pension committee. If management wants to change the pension plan, they gotta go through me first, and I'm one tough SOB when it comes to protecting the common working man and common working woman.

Getting back to your story. Yes, I believe the national FOP endorsed Bush. Which proves that the term "labor" or "big labor" covers a wide variety of working men and working women in this country, and shouldn't be used by some pea-brains on this board as a catch-all term.
