Vignette Called by Verizon to Power New Intranet
AUSTIN, Texas--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Sept. 14, 2000--Vignette Corp. (Nasdaq:VIGN - news), the leading supplier of
e-business applications, today announced that Verizon Communications (NYSE:VZ - news), the national communications
company formed by the merger of Bell Atlantic and GTE, selected the Vignette V/5 eBusiness Application Platform(tm) to power its new corporate intranet.

Verizon selected Vignette to consolidate several hundred existing internal Web sites on a common content management and personalization platform. The Vignette technology will provide the core infrastructure for Verizon's intranet, be the internal platform for the e-business group and support the company's main corporate portal. The portal will be available to more than 200,000 employees, providing them access to business information, corporate news, applications and productivity tools.
