Pressure Off of Intel
9/15/00 8:00 AM ET

The Intel (INTC:Nasdaq) saga seems to have unfolded like this: August was strong, but ended weak. September? We don't know yet. If August had stayed as strong as it started, Intel would have had to preannounce to the upside. But it didn't finish that strong. That did not mean it would preannounce to the downside, but it did mean that the high end of the range was now in jeopardy.

That' s where we are now. That's one of the main reasons we grew less bullish here, that whole sequence of events. We think that at 60, that sequence is now well-known, as it pertains to Intel. And we think the pressure will now be off it.
