Unique Broadband Completes Acquisition of European Leader in Digital
Transmission Technology

Acquisition Extends Leadership Position in OFDM Technology to Digital Video

Concord, ON - September 15, 2000 - Unique Broadband Systems, Inc. (CDNX:
UBS), a leader in high-speed wireless transmission solutions, today
announced that it has closed its transaction to purchase ProTelevision
Technologies A/S based in Brøndby, Denmark (PTV). PTV, a pioneer and
leading provider of studio and transmission products to the television and
broadcast transmission industries, will operate as a wholly owned subsidiary
of UBS.

"The completion of this transaction represents a significant strategic
acquisition for UBS," said Alex Dolgonos, President and CEO of UBS. "From a
product perspective, there are synergies between UBS and PTV that will
improve our ability to capitalize on global opportunities in the broadband
wireless market. This acquisition also improves our sales and marketing
position, giving UBS access to PTV's international customer base and sales
and distribution network throughout the world."

UBS plans to continue PTV's operations out of its head office and ISO 9001
certified manufacturing facility located in Brøndby, Denmark, as well as out
of its sales offices located in the US, Singapore, the UK, France, Italy,
Germany and Denmark.

"PTV is very excited about joining the UBS family," said Jacob Perch
Nielsen, Managing Director of PTV. "The acquisition by UBS gives PTV access
to additional engineering, sales and marketing leadership, as well as access
to additional products, technologies and customers."

With the completion of this acquisition, UBS now has in excess of 150
employees (including more than 80 engineers) and offices in the United
States, Canada, Russia, Singapore, the UK, France, Italy, Germany and
Denmark.

"This acquisition reinforces our vision of becoming the world-wide leader in
high-speed mobile and fixed wireless transmission solutions," added
Dolgonos. "We are very focused on this objective and understand that to
realize our vision, we must continue to deliver leading edge Orthogonal
Frequency Division Multiplex (OFDM) solutions to the market. This will be
done through continued growth of R&D resources and strategic acquisitions of
companies, such as PTV, which bring products and expertise that help move
UBS towards achieving this goal."

OFDM enables high quality, high capacity distribution of audio, video, data
and other forms of information and multimedia in a mobile and/or fixed
wireless environment. This leading edge technology is viewed by the
industry as the best method to deliver high-speed wireless services,
especially for mobile applications.

"With the contract awarded by Hughes Network Systems earlier this year
(which is, to date, the industry's single largest OFDM contract ever
awarded) and the completion of this acquisition, management has demonstrated
its ability to execute on the strategy that will enable UBS to achieve its
vision of becoming the leader in OFDM-based wireless solutions," said
Stephen Rosen, CFO of UBS.
