I am distracted by having to babysit my nieces, so perhaps I am unclear. Since I would not bother with a federal minimum wage, the enforcement apparatus would disappear. You say that the Living Wage would eliminate the bureaucracy for the EITC. I suggest that it is a trade off, that there is either your enforcement bureaucracy, or my administrative bureaucracy. I may add, I would also say that the inefficiency of cheating should be stacked up against the inefficiency of setting a high floor for all minimum wage workers, regardless of circumstances.
