TORONTO, Sept. 15 /CNW/ - Magellan Aerospace Corporation announced today two contracts totaling $13.8 million (Cdn) in firm defence work from Northrop Grumman Integrated Systems and Aerostructures Sector, El Segundo, California. The first contract award is for the production of key structural components for the F/A-18C/D center barrel retrofit program. The components are large aluminum bulkheads and assemblies, and will be produced during 2000 and 2001. The work will be performed in Magellan's Ellanef facilities located in Bohemia and Corona, New York. The second contract award is the exercise of an option for full rate production of structural components for the F/A-18E/F Super Hornet strike fighter, with delivery in 2001. The option includes a combination of titanium bulkheads, spindles, engine mounts, and formers. Ellanef will also perform this work.
